We are having friends over for dinner tonight and since we slept in, breakfast needed to be something quick. Alan said “we can just have some eggs with toast”. As he stepped out the door to pick up some milk and bread, I quickly chopped a couple small tomatoes (one yellow, one red), a small [...] The aesthetics of food is something that really appreciate. The photographer in me is always attentive to the light, or the colour, texture, or shape of particular foods. So I took one bite of a small slice of bread on which I had put some of my own antipasto and a slice of Dubliner cheese [...] Last week I tried the tomato sauce from Loffredo Farms and I was blown away. It was SO tasty. I bought another jar this week and ordered a box of 12 for next week. I’ll save them for the cold winter months when we have no more tomatoes around… Can’t wait to check it out! I routinely eat vegetables for breakfast – often added to couscous or steel cut oats. But in these late summer days, when vegetables are at their best, I enjoy them in a simple marinate and served on top of a wholewheat toast of some kind.
